LGBT Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, where activists and patrons of the Stonewall Inn pushed back against police harassment and persecution to which LGBT Americans were commonly subjected. The flag was designed by non-binary artist Daniel Quasar and made by San Diego-based Pride Flag SD, the first Queer-owned flag company. Garfield Ave., on Wednesday, June 1, at 12:30 p.m. Gordo and City Council invite community members to attend the Progress Pride Flag raising ceremony in front of City Hall, 100 N.
